11am - Lynn Margulis seminar room (PABS-B)

Keehoon Sohn leads the group « plant immunity » at the Seoul National University. He will present his work on 8th February at 11am in the Lynn Margulis seminar room (PABS-B).

Abstract

Dr Sohn studies microbial pathogenesis and plant innate immunity. He is interested in understanding the virulence function of bacterial and fungal effectors and how some of these effectors are recognized by intracellular immune receptors (NLRs), which in turn activate plant immune responses in plants (Arabidopsis and Solanaceae). He also investigates natural diversity to identify novel resistance genes in crops and to understand plant-pathogen co-evolution.
